Assessing Your Course
- CourseCheck was created by OLN and provides
a starting point for improving distance courses. Based on Chickering and Gamson's
7 Principles of Good Practice in Undergraduate Education, the CourseCheck
tool provides resources to begin a reflective process that increases student engagement.
- Quality Matters was
created by MarylandOnline as a systemic set of resources to analyze, review and
improve distance courses. QM was based on extensive research and current literature
about what constitutes a quality design of distance courses.
- The Rubric
is an excellent place to start to understand this great resource. QM provides
face-to-face and online workshops.
- Quality Learning In Ohio and at a
Distance is a report written by OLN’s Task Force on Quality in Distance
Learning. It provides important, foundational information as well as recommendations
for institutions, faculty, student services professionals, state agencies, and
OLN to address the quality of distance learning experiences for Ohio learners.
